What's BCAC all about?

For nearly a century, people have gathered in this building.

Today, its rooms are filled with art, music, conversation, performances, workshops, and the energy of people creating together. Every visit offers something different, but the feeling is the same: you're welcome here

“For over a quarter of a century we’ve been a place where people on the Oregon coast come to make things, hear music, and find each other.”

Our Story

A Community Gathering Place Since 2000

For more than 26 years, Bay City Arts Center has been a place where creativity, culture, and community come together.

Founded in 2000 by a group of local artists, parents, and community members, BCAC began with a simple idea: to create a welcoming place where people of all ages could gather to make art, share ideas, learn new skills, and celebrate creativity.

Today, housed in Bay City's historic 1926 Masonic Hall, Bay City Arts Center offers year-round art exhibitions, live performances, arts education, youth programs, workshops, community events, and KAYN 92.9 FM community radio. From first-time artists to lifelong makers, children to older adults, everyone is welcome here.

What has remained constant over the years is our belief that the arts bring people together. Every exhibit, concert, class, and community event is an opportunity to connect with one another, discover something new, and strengthen the creative spirit of our coastal community.

As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our historic building in 2026, we're excited for what's next, continuing to grow as a vibrant gathering place where creativity and community flourish together.
